About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Underwrite credit exposure for the most complex and largest Dealer Services relationships
- Actively manage an assigned portfolio of Dealer Services relationships
- Lead the complete commercial underwriting process internally and externally with prospects and clients
- Underwrite, structure, and document prospect and client transactions
- Independently manage complex deals and the largest credit relationships
- Analyze company performance, industry and competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic events affecting creditworthiness
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, projections, and business plans
- Identify and mitigate key risks
- Recommend and model appropriate loan structures
- Maintain expertise in ancillary products and assess legal documentation impacts and negotiations
- Ensure risk evaluation and regulatory compliance
- Monitor portfolio performance and trends
- Define client credit solutions, identify issues, and follow through on remediation
- Maintain risk-rating integrity, conduct annual reviews, spread financial statements, and complete compliance and regulatory reviews
- Manage amendments and waivers in the assigned portfolio
- Expand client relationships through consistent, direct client calling
- Develop solutions aligned with client needs and the Bank’s risk acceptance criteria
- Partner with Investment Banking peers to deliver complex financing solutions
- Maintain and share knowledge of corporate, investment, and commercial banking solutions, market trends, and business drivers
- Manage assigned Associates and Analysts
- Mentor and coach junior portfolio managers, Associates, and Analysts
- Provide independent, current, and forward-looking risk views and recommendations
- Handle a large portfolio of complex and leveraged clients
- Lead activities benefiting the Portfolio Management platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
- At least 7+ years of related training and experience in commercial/Dealer Services credit analysis
- Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Sound credit skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize workflow and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- English language fluency required
- Industry or sub-sector expertise preferred
- Experience successfully holding a similar role with a commercial financial institution or like experience preferred
- Mastery of Truist Bank operating systems, including COMPASS, MRA, Salesforce.com, and nCino, preferred
