About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Underwrite credit exposure for the most complex and largest Dealer Services relationships
  • Actively manage an assigned Dealer Services portfolio
  • Lead the full underwriting process internally and externally with prospects and clients
  • Underwrite, structure, and document new and existing transactions for complex nonprofit relationships
  • Evaluate mission, governance, board oversight, operating model, program performance, fundraising capacity, liquidity, debt service capacity, assets, cash flow reliability, covenant compliance, collateral support, and long-term financial sustainability
  • Recommend and model appropriate loan structures
  • Maintain expertise in treasury, deposit, liquidity, investment, and other ancillary banking solutions
  • Identify emerging credit concerns, sector trends, funding pressures, governance issues, liquidity challenges, and revenue-pattern changes
  • Monitor financial performance trends and define client credit solutions
  • Manage risk ratings, annual reviews, financial statement spreading, compliance, regulatory reviews, amendments, and waivers
  • Expand client relationships through direct calling with nonprofit executives, finance leaders, board representatives, development officers, and other stakeholders
  • Partner with Relationship Managers and internal product specialists to deliver financing and banking solutions
  • Share nonprofit sector and credit-risk insights across the Portfolio Management organization
  • Manage assigned Associates and Analysts and mentor junior Portfolio Managers, Associates, and Analysts
  • Provide independent risk recommendations on risk rating, compliance, underwriting, covenants, repayment capacity, liquidity, and sector-specific risks
  • Handle a large portfolio of complex clients and lead process improvement, policy development, sector training, reporting enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
  • At least 7+ years of related training and experience in commercial/Dealer Services credit analysis
  • Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound credit skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: Experience in a similar role with a commercial financial institution or like experience
  • Preferred: Industry or sub-sector expertise
  • Preferred: Mastery of Truist Bank operating systems, including COMPASS, MRA, Salesforce.com, and nCino
