About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Underwrite credit exposure for the most complex and largest Dealer Services relationships
  • Actively manage an assigned Dealer Services portfolio
  • Lead the entire commercial underwriting process internally and externally with prospects and clients
  • Underwrite, structure, and document prospect and client transactions
  • Independently manage complex deals and large credit relationships
  • Analyze company performance, industry and competitive dynamics, and macroeconomic events
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, projections, and business plans
  • Identify and mitigate key risks
  • Recommend and model appropriate loan structures
  • Maintain expertise in the bank’s ancillary products and legal documentation impacts
  • Ensure risk evaluation and associated regulatory compliance
  • Monitor portfolio performance and trends
  • Define client credit solutions, identify issues, and follow through on remediation
  • Maintain risk-rating integrity, annual reviews, financial statement spreading, and regulatory compliance reviews
  • Manage amendments and waivers in the assigned portfolio
  • Expand client relationships through direct client calling
  • Develop solutions aligned with client needs and the Bank’s risk acceptance criteria
  • Partner with Investment Banking peers to deliver complex financing solutions
  • Maintain and share expertise on corporate, investment, and commercial banking solutions, market trends, and business drivers
  • Manage assigned Associates and Analysts
  • Mentor and coach junior PMs, Associates, and Analysts
  • Provide independent current and forward-looking risk views and author risk recommendations
  • Handle a large portfolio of complex and leveraged clients and lead platform-wide activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
  • At least 7+ years of related training and experience in commercial/Dealer Services credit analysis
  • Mastery level proficiency with MS Office Desktop applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound credit skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • English language fluency required
  • Preferred: successfully held a similar role with a commercial financial institution or like experience
  • Preferred: industry or sub-sector expertise
  • Preferred: mastery of Truist Bank operating systems, including COMPASS, MRA, Salesforce.com, and nCino
