About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all daily processing operations, including oil production and flower production
- Ensure the safety, quality, productivity, production efficiency, on-time delivery, customer service, and financial performance of the plant
- Coordinate production planning and corporate goal implementation with National Manufacturing leadership, the state director, and local supply chain
- Maintain compliance with city, county, and state policies, regulations, and laws
- Oversee product and packaging quality, process performance, audits, and employee and product security
- Coordinate with Product Commercialization, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Marketing for new product implementation
- Implement and execute quality, safety, and compliance initiatives for manufacturing
- Support operations and manufacturing supervisors on the plant floor, monitor production, resolve delays, and oversee production issues
- Assist with state-level manufacturing budgets and financial reporting
- Lead short-term projects and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence
- Provide hands-on operational leadership and cultivate leadership values
- Partner with Human Resources to maintain an engaged, team-oriented workforce
- Report department progress and performance against KPIs
- Create, revise, and edit SOPs as needed
- Perform additional duties assigned by manufacturing leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Production management in the food/beverage or pharmaceutical industry desired
- 4+ years of experience with direct reports
- 2+ years of experience with a production manager title, or 6+ years of experience as a high-level production supervisor
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization
- Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage high-stress situations, and remain flexible and adaptable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and leadership
- Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the department
- Ability to articulate job goals so they are completed effectively the first time
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 21 years of age, or minimum 18 years of age in CT, PA, and WV
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background screening
- Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties
- Ability to sit, squat, stand, kneel, bend, or walk throughout the workday
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to work in environments with fertilizer, dust, odors, temperature and humidity extremes, high noise, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, plant pathogens, volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables
