About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Harvest cannabis material and prepare, weigh, and log it for transportation to dry rooms
- Perform plant defoliation as needed
- Maintain compliance using a centralized tracking system
- Document testing results through reports and logs
- Input data into the company database
- Conduct continual quality-control assessments as product moves through the process
- Operate and maintain equipment according to standard operating procedures
- Weigh and dispose of plant waste material
- Process and prepare cannabis material according to SOP and cGMP cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Account for all cannabis material and products according to company policies and procedures
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and bag excess plant material to keep work areas clean
- Clean, sanitize, and store equipment after use
- Follow company safety rules and regulations
- Perform manual cross-department duties as needed
- Maintain a positive, safe, and clean environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report to the Sr Post Harvest Manager
- Work 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours and occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge and understanding of cannabis handling, including harvesting, drying, curing, and trimming is a plus, but not required
- Good discipline and attendance standards
- Ability to work hands-on with cannabis plant material daily
- Ability to work flexibly in various sectors of the production department
- Ability to work as a team unit and collaborate with other departments
- Positive attitude and proactive approach
- Self-motivated, innovative, and a team player
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to remain compliant with legal and company regulations
- Minimum age of 21, or 18 in CT, PA, and WV
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
- Must pass a comprehensive background screening
- Ability to lift, push, pull, move, or carry at least 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and for at least 50 feet
- Ability to work seated or standing for extended periods and perform climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand movements
- Ability to handle organic matter daily and wear required PPE in hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions, including temperatures of 95 degrees or greater
- Visual acuity sufficient for computer-terminal viewing and detailed inspection in day and night conditions
- Ability to communicate verbally at conversation levels in moderate noise
