About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee IT equipment inventory, asset tracking, logistics projects, and device repair and maintenance
- Lead and train a team of IT Logistics Specialists
- Oversee purchasing and provisioning support
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate delivery of IT equipment
- Develop logistics plans and maintain safety and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate records in logistics systems
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate transportation providers
- Resolve shipment issues and identify process and service improvements
- Manage inventory of laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, routers, switches, servers, and accessories
- Track assets using barcode scanners, RFID tags, and asset management software
- Coordinate procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance, and disposal of IT equipment
- Coordinate device repairs and disposition of obsolete equipment
- Prepare and image equipment for service tickets and projects
- Coordinate equipment orders, deliveries, and installations
- Assign team tasks and schedules and monitor team progress and performance
- Provide updates to the IT Operations Manager, recommend process improvements, and escalate issues
- Order IT equipment through SAP and verify receipt and delivery to the correct destination
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- At least two years of demonstrated experience using asset management software
- Previous team management experience
- Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and provide constructive feedback and guidance
- Working knowledge of relevant IT equipment, devices, systems, and troubleshooting practices
- Flexibility to travel, work onsite as needed, and adapt to changing work environments and priorities
- Experience with SAP and/or forklift operation is preferred
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and move that weight at least 50 feet
- Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods; maintain balance while climbing ladders or stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
- Ability to frequently or continuously use hands and fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick up, and pinch objects
- Ability to handle organic matter daily and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions, including temperatures of 95°F or higher
- Sufficient visual acuity to read, view a computer screen, inspect small parts and details, and see clearly at 20 feet or more
- Ability to communicate verbally at a conversational level in a moderately noisy environment
- Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Approximately 20%–30% travel expected
