About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the technical authority for Microsoft identity, security, endpoint management, and Zero Trust architecture
- Lead the design, engineering, deployment, and operational maturity of Microsoft Entra ID, Identity Governance, Policies, Intune, Windows Autopilot, Defender, Global Secure Access, and Microsoft 365 security/E5 capabilities
- Lead Active Directory dependency reduction and Entra-first identity architecture initiatives
- Design and implement Microsoft Entra Cloud Sync and lead Entra Connect migrations where appropriate
- Assess and reduce authentication dependencies and execute ADFS retirement planning
- Establish identity source-of-authority and authentication lifecycle governance
- Lead passwordless authentication strategy using Microsoft Authenticator, Passkeys, Windows Hello for Business, and Cloud Kerberos Trust
- Lead Intune transformation, cloud-first endpoint management, GPO-to-Intune migration, CIS benchmark controls, and Windows deployment modernization
- Lead Hybrid AD to Entra Join transitions and Autopilot modernization
- Evaluate and architect Microsoft Global Secure Access, Entra Private Access, and Entra Internet Access
- Develop coexistence and migration strategies from Zscaler, conduct proof-of-concept testing, and create migration roadmaps and operational support models
- Evaluate and implement Entra Identity Governance, Joiner-Mover-Leaver workflows, access certification, HR-system integrations, and role-based access governance
- Develop PowerShell automation using Microsoft Graph APIs; automate provisioning and reporting
- Build self-service capabilities and reduce operational overhead through engineering practices
- Partner with Technology Operations, Information Security, Infrastructure, Compliance, Service Desk, and business stakeholders on Trupanion’s Microsoft platform roadmap
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years Microsoft infrastructure engineering experience
- 5+ years Microsoft identity engineering experience
- 5+ years Microsoft 365 administration and architecture experience
- 5+ years Intune and endpoint engineering experience
- 3+ years of Software/Tools/Automation development experience
- Experience leading enterprise transformation programs
- Experience designing Zero Trust architecture
- Experience supporting regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, identity governance, PIM, Cloud Sync, Entra Connect, ADFS, SSO, MFA, and authentication flows
- Expertise in Microsoft Intune, SCCM, Autopilot, Entra Join, hybrid join, Windows Update for Business, CIS benchmarks, and GPO migration
- Expertise in Global Secure Access, Entra Private Access, Entra Internet Access, and Private Application Access
- PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, and Azure Automation proficiency
- Independent technical ownership, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and communication with technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable
