About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Consult with various company areas on privacy compliance
- Assist business areas and project teams with developing controls for appropriate and compliant use of personal information
- Deliver research, analysis, maintenance, training and education on compliance topics
- Collaborate with, educate and advise business partners on risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Assess and monitor programs, processes and initiatives related to ethics and compliance
- Identify business, product, work and associate risks, opportunities and solutions
- Perform complex compliance reviews, enterprise assessments and policy/procedure reviews
- Analyze existing and pending legislative activities
- Review service products, marketing materials and business processes for compliance
- Provide strategic direction for regulatory filings and forms across all states
- Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and potentially lead small projects
- Improve products, processes and services using best practices and business knowledge
- Solve complex problems using existing solutions, tools and approaches
- Work independently with proactive leadership and decision-making
- Develop and implement training and education programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, risk management, cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent combination of related professional work experience
- 5+ years of experience in insurance, business or government regulations/compliance or equivalent work experience
- Deep knowledge and experience in privacy compliance and proper data use
- Ability to research, interpret and analyze complex laws, regulations and industry requirements
- Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into practical business solutions
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong business consultation, collaboration and influencing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with limited direction, exercise sound judgment, establish priorities and drive work to completion
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team environment
- IAPP certification(s), such as CIPP, CIPM and/or CIPT (preferred)
