About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply legal, regulatory, compliance, and financial services product expertise to Compliance Solutions products and solutions
  • Research and interpret federal and state statutes, regulations, agency guidance, case law, enforcement trends, and industry best practices
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into product functionality, business rules, data requirements, documentation, and testing expectations
  • Ensure Compliance Solutions content complies with applicable requirements and creates enforceable legal instruments
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess impacts on product content, legal instruments, disclosures, business rules, calculations, data fields, workflows, documentation, and client-facing functionality
  • Analyze Research Engine pings and identify required product changes and improvements
  • Assess market demand, competitive products, and industry developments; suggest product changes and opportunities
  • Draft product requirements and define the full scope of product changes and updates
  • Identify impacted product components and transaction scenarios
  • Create and maintain product data, metadata, documentation, and change records
  • Analyze data usage and resolve data conflicts across product libraries
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to develop test scenarios and conduct transaction testing
  • Validate product implementations against requirements and troubleshoot issues
  • Provide timely support for internal and external inquiries and manage logged issues and change requests
  • Draft communications explaining issues, solutions, and product impacts
  • Educate internal staff, clients, and business partners on product design, updates, legal and regulatory changes, and industry trends
  • Develop subject matter training and contribute content to publications and newsletters
  • Create, manage, and execute project plans for product team initiatives and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Law degree (required)
  • Licensed to practice law (preferred)
  • Generally, 5 plus years of business principles, banking, legal and compliance knowledge directly related to the subject matters and products, financial industry experience, banking exposure/regulatory knowledge, and overall work/practical experience and/or academic background
  • Familiarity or specific experience with consumer and commercial lending, mortgage lending, electronic banking, privacy, adverse action, disclosures, and financial institution compliance requirements preferred
  • Knowledge of TILA/Reg Z, RESPA/Reg X, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA, HMDA/Reg C, EFTA/Reg E, GLBA, UDAAP, BSA/AML, state lending and usury laws, and applicable CFPB, OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, NCUA, and state regulator guidance preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of integrated teams in a fluid environment
  • Ability to manage details and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop long-term close working relationships based on trust and respect
  • Strong analytical, creative thinking, interpretation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft programs, including Excel
  • Excellent time management skills
