Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, implement, and manage the strategic direction of enterprise data assets
  • Interpret, understand, and solve business problems through an experience data lens
  • Develop, design, and refine data capabilities supporting multiple enterprise users
  • Lead data capability strategy and execution, aligning with business objectives
  • Support annual business planning, scope, and design of critical data capabilities
  • Oversee strategy, development, and integration of data capabilities for business impact and alignment
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to identify needs, assess impact, and define business value and outcomes
  • Define data capability strategy and roadmap with key stakeholders
  • Translate complex data relationships and models into business-friendly artifacts
  • Translate business opportunities into data-driven capabilities with IT and business leaders
  • Adapt data strategy to changing business, technology, and regulatory landscapes
  • Define, scope, and prioritize large, complex data capabilities with data consultants and business partners
  • Facilitate workshops and liaise between business, architecture, and data teams
  • Manage and report milestones, investment, and progress of data initiatives to the Corporate Performance Office
  • Ensure adherence to data capability best practices and standards
  • Serve as thought partner and primary liaison to enterprise business partners during data capability development
  • Represent business use cases and value throughout execution
  • Manage rapid delivery and coordination across a distributed execution model for data initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or related professional work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in data management and/or technology related work
  • 5+ years of working in a leadership capacity, preferably in insurance, financial services, or a data-related industry
  • Strong experience in partnering with senior business leaders and executive communications skills
  • Experience with data models, modern data tools, and master data management
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and ability to use business intelligence and data visualization tools
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytical models and data management practices
  • Ability to mentor and lead others, including cross-functional teams, without line-management authority
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with business leaders
  • Extensive knowledge of data domains and data ecosystem
  • Demonstrated experience providing data-driven tools and solutions
