About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
  • Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care
  • Supervise and provide clinical oversight to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and other advanced practice providers
  • Provide consultation, co-signatures, and collaborative agreements as required by South Carolina law for supervised NPs
  • Collaborate with therapists and care coordinators to support integrated treatment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Participate in treatment planning to support coordinated patient care
  • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health care across South Carolina
  • Provide primarily telehealth care with in-person visits mainly in the Columbia office and occasionally at other locations such as Rock Hill

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
  • Active and unrestricted South Carolina medical license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Eligibility and willingness to serve as supervising physician for Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) per South Carolina regulations
  • Ability to provide telehealth and in-person services
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication management
  • Prior experience supervising or collaborating with Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) or other APRNs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience providing care in outpatient behavioral health settings preferred
  • Experience providing care through telehealth is a plus
