About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in discovery phases and estimate business requirements
Plan and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for project execution
Design, develop, and modify Node JS application features
Interact with business and technology teams
Lead and participate in unit testing and code reviews
Engage in technical design, requirements analysis, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance
Provide hands-on support for Node JS architecture, development, design, analysis, and problem resolution
Communicate with clients to understand expectations
Ensure features are delivered efficiently and on time
Troubleshoot production issues
Follow advancements in back-end technologies and techniques
Expand knowledge of new technologies
Train and integrate new team members and support existing team members’ development
Build and promote a positive team environment
Support team performance, development, disciplinary, and conflict-resolution processes with effective feedback
Support presales activities for new business
Participate in recruitment activities when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Excellent collaboration skills and a can-do attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum 5 years of experience developing on the Node JS framework
Good experience with the MEAN stack and MVC application architecture would be a plus
Good knowledge of HTML, CSS3, SASS, and cross-browser development
Proficiency in NodeJS microservices
Ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders
Proficiency with GIT, JIRA, and web developer tools such as Chrome and Firebug
Familiarity with Confluence, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Overall 7 to 12 plus years of IT experience
General experience working with e-commerce systems is a plus
Experience with Shopify and Shopify Plus
Experience with React JS and Angular
Experience integrating Node JS with Shopify sites
Strong skills in developing Node JS applications
Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL systems
Good experience implementing REST APIs
Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks
Experience with Agile Scrum
