About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own systems end to end, from design and development through production support
  • Lead owned projects by sequencing work, prioritizing delivery, and setting technical direction
  • Engage with system users and translate their needs into system improvements
  • Design service boundaries, contracts, and schema evolution
  • Build dependable production AI systems with evaluation harnesses, human approval steps, retry handling, and cost tracking
  • Build agent skills, tool and MCP integrations, and shared libraries
  • Improve engineering quality through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring
  • Identify and deliver unrequested platform improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of professional experience building and operating production systems
  • Ability to explain a system designed end to end, including boundaries, constraints, and trade-offs
  • Strong programming proficiency in a statically typed language such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Kotlin, C#, or TypeScript
  • Experience owning a service in production, including runbooks, cost awareness, and incident response
  • Experience designing systems with stable interfaces and schema evolution for other teams to integrate with
  • Experience leading projects involving other engineers
  • Effective communication with cross-functional partners
  • Proven ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools and review AI-generated output for correctness, security, and maintainability
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field, or equivalent industry experience
