About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement physical therapy treatment programs for individual patients
  • Treat pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patient populations
  • Assess patient pain and develop treatment plans to achieve maximum functional outcomes
  • Establish short- and long-term goals and plans of care across musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems
  • Involve patients and families in the plan of care and provide education
  • Supervise and educate students and evaluate student performance
  • Maintain timely medical-record documentation for all patients treated
  • Contribute to efficient and cost-effective department operations and follow billing guidelines
  • Prepare the department for JCAHO surveys and participate in CQI activities
  • Attend rounds, team meetings, case conferences, staff meetings, and professional education events
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, patients, and families on safety and discharge planning
  • Coordinate clinic staffing, monitor and distribute referrals, and manage a patient caseload
  • Provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage as operationally needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy
  • Physical Therapy (PT) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • One (1) year of experience as a Physical Therapist
  • Ability to read/write and communicate in English
  • Knowledge of physical modalities, therapeutic exercise and other treatment skills
  • Ability to assess and treat patients of all age groups
  • Ability to lift/move 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and transferring patients
  • Manual dexterity for computer use, quantitative testing, and manual treatment techniques
  • Preferred: Advanced Degree (Masters or Doctorate)
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of clinical experience
