About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with project management duties
  • Lead project tasks
  • Prepare full or major sections of NEPA documents
  • Prepare technical reports and environmental permits, including State and Federal Resource Agency permits and agency access and encroachment permits
  • Implement environmental commitments compliance oversight during construction, implementation, operations, and restoration activities
  • Assist with preparation of project budgets, scopes of work, and schedules
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and resource surveys
  • Prepare technical resource-specific reports and permits
  • Monitor and track environmental commitments during construction
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, and resource agency personnel
  • Review project engineering drawings and provide environmental input
  • Conduct quality control reviews of documents
  • Assist with business development and marketing efforts
  • Research information relevant to environmental considerations on projects
  • Prepare tables, comment logs, meeting minutes/notes, and document templates
  • Perform other duties as necessary
  • Work on projects in transportation, rail, renewables, water, ports, and utility sectors in Arizona or other states as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, natural resources, planning, or related fields
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience preparing NEPA documents for transportation, railway, renewables, water, and utility sectors in Arizona
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior staff, and clients
  • Experience with common industry software, specifically Microsoft products
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
  • Ability to work in office, field, and remote environments
  • Willingness to travel when necessary, including potential overnight stays
  • Experience with GIS is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish—speaking and writing is a plus
