About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide mid-level federal acquisition support across acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, award, contract administration, and closeout.
  • Support market research, acquisition documentation, and procurement strategy development.
  • Prepare and edit RFPs, RFQs, solicitation documents, and other acquisition materials.
  • Review SOWs, SOOs, PWSs, and requirements documentation for completeness and acquisition readiness.
  • Prepare and review pre-procurement packages and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain workload tracking and provide timely status updates on assigned contractual actions.
  • Support IDIQ contracts, BPAs, task orders, delivery orders, call orders, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Apply knowledge of Firm-Fixed Price, Cost-Reimbursable, Labor Hour, and Time and Materials arrangements.
  • Assist with cost and price analysis and review price-reasonableness documentation.
  • Prepare and support contract modifications involving requirements, funding, period of performance, or other terms.
  • Assist with termination, default, and closeout activities.
  • Perform recurring contract administration with limited Government guidance.
  • Analyze procurement issues, identify solutions, and support resolution of acquisition problems.
  • Validate procurement and contract data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Use federal acquisition electronic tools, systems, and contract-writing platforms.
  • Provide additional acquisition support to FTA programs as assigned.
  • Independently assess assigned work and provide recommendations or feedback to Government personnel.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and applicable federal contracting experience; or equivalent experience meeting the position requirements.
  • At least 5 years of relevant contracting or acquisition experience.
  • Alternatively, completion of at least 24 semester hours in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing mid-level federal Contract Specialist or Contract Administrator responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
  • Experience supporting federal procurement actions through multiple stages of the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Knowledge and experience applying Firm-Fixed Price, Cost-Reimbursable, Labor Hour, and Time and Materials contracts.
  • Experience supporting IDIQ contracts, BPAs, task orders, delivery orders, call orders, and purchase orders.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing federal acquisition documentation, solicitation materials, and contract administration actions.
  • Knowledge of cost and price analysis concepts and techniques.
  • Experience supporting contract modifications and contract closeout activities.
  • Ability to independently analyze acquisition assignments and provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience using Google Calendar, Sheets, Gmail, Docs, Slides, Drive, Meet, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong internet and market research skills.
  • Preferred: FAR Parts 12, 13, 37, 43, and 4.804; Federal Supply Schedule/GSA procedures; PRISM or another federal contract writing system; prior DOT, FTA, or federal civilian agency experience.
