About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions
Build cloud-based applications and services within AWS
Develop solutions using Python, JavaScript, and SQL/PostgreSQL
Design, build, and integrate APIs and services
Work with databases, data flows, and system integrations
Write clean, maintainable, secure, and testable code
Contribute to testing throughout the development lifecycle
Use GitHub, Docker, and modern engineering and DevOps practices
Collaborate with Architects, Product, Design, User Research, and Testing colleagues
Translate user and business requirements into technical solutions
Engage stakeholders by communicating progress, technical decisions, and potential challenges
Contribute to technical design, engineering standards, and continuous improvement
Support and mentor other developers where appropriate
Support solutions through development, deployment, and live operation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software development experience within modern digital environments
Strong development experience in Python and/or JavaScript
Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
Experience developing applications and services within AWS environments
Experience designing, developing and integrating APIs
Good understanding of software engineering principles, testing, and secure development practices
Experience using Git and platforms such as GitHub
Experience with Docker and containerised applications
Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
Ability to translate user and business needs into technical solutions
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Current SC clearance required before commencing the role and ability to maintain it for the duration of the assignment
