About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the lifecycle of standard to moderately complex projects focused on healthcare data exchange, interoperability standards implementation, clearinghouse operations, or other organizational goals
  • Lead implementation initiatives such as onboarding new health system partners to the HIE or deploying new clearinghouse services
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including scope, requirements, standards, resource allocation, risk management, and communication plans
  • Develop and update information technology or operational project plans covering objectives, technologies, systems, specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structures and project critical paths
  • Establish and execute project communication plans
  • Identify and coordinate project resources and materials
  • Coordinate with teams and finance on project cost estimates
  • Contribute to cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses
  • Assess customer needs through direct communication, surveys, and other methods
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings
  • Monitor milestones and technical deliverables and provide timely status reports to leadership and external partners
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Initiate, review, or approve project plan modifications
  • Manage dependencies, anticipate implementation risks, and escalate critical security or compliance issues
  • Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems
  • Ensure project outcomes comply with requirements, standards, and internal security policies
  • Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary project team members without direct reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience leading and managing cross-functional data integration and technology implementation projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of related work experience
  • Proven experience managing projects within a healthcare technology environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or other relevant certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), CAHIMS, or CPHIMS) is a plus
  • Solid working knowledge of program and project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles and Agile methodologies
  • Proficiency with project management software tools
  • Ability to establish detailed project plans and manage multiple interdependent workstreams
  • Stakeholder management, including translating technical requirements for business leaders and presenting project status to stakeholders
  • Ability to respond to sponsor questions regarding timelines, scope, budget, and status
  • Ability to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to talk or hear and adjust focus
  • Must comply with UHIN policies and procedures regarding PHI privacy and security and maintain confidentiality
