Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the re-procurement of UK Biobank’s Research Analysis Platform and Cloud Infrastructure contracts
  • Advise on route to market
  • Develop tender documentation
  • Support market engagement activities
  • Build relationships with senior managers and the Executive Team
  • Provide expert advice on designing and executing complex procurements
  • Ensure compliance with new public procurement regulations
  • Develop and lead UK Biobank’s commercial strategy
  • Develop plans for key category spend
  • Identify opportunities to improve value and reduce costs
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Provide dynamic and inclusive leadership
  • Build, maintain and motivate high-performing teams
  • Champion the organisation’s desired culture and senior-leader behaviours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience leading complex and/or high value public procurements of technology or cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with technology-related government/CCS frameworks
  • Experience of purchasing via government/CCS frameworks
  • MCIPS qualification
  • Experience negotiating high-value contracts
  • Strategic thinking
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Availability to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Commitment to working from the Greenheys office in Manchester on a hybrid basis
