About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Schedule all surgical procedures and collect complete clinical and insurance coding information
  • Coordinate office and hospital-based medical procedures, tests, and imaging
  • Interface with vendor staff to ensure necessary equipment is available
  • Complete accurate documentation of informed consent for procedures and surgeries
  • Provide patients with instructions regarding test preparations, arrival times, and directions
  • Confirm insurance providers and secure or communicate the need for prior authorization
  • Review and verify surgery schedules for correct patient, procedure, time, site, implants, and equipment per Universal Protocol
  • Communicate with hospital surgery schedulers and verify alignment with office procedure schedules
  • Retrieve and analyze special reports to support scheduling accuracy and decision-making
  • Respond to information requests and resolve scheduling conflicts through the office manager
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiology, nursing, and ancillary departments
  • Verify Pre-Admission Testing orders for accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or relevant area
  • All experience must be paid and in the same related field
  • Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week
  • Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted
  • Certifications & Licensures: N/A
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions regularly
  • Regular computer workstation use and typing
  • Occasional job-related travel
