About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform power system studies including short circuit, arc flash, load flow, transient overvoltage, and harmonics
- Support wind, solar, and BESS generator owners with system studies
- Use PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, PSCAD, and other software packages
- Utilize Python scripting to implement efficient processes
- Help develop procedures for new study areas
- Identify and support business development opportunities
- Independently complete assigned tasks and manage workload
- Collaborate with staff, management, clients, and external agencies
- Apply evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows and solve problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience
- At least 4 years of experience directly related to power systems
- Experience with programming in Python preferred
- Experience performing power system studies using PSSE, ETAP, EasyPower, PSCAD, and other software packages
- EIT status and ability to work toward PE certification preferred
- Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
- Ability to independently complete assigned tasks
- Ability to actively manage individual workload
- Self-starter willing to identify and implement improvements
- Analytical, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships
- Openness to innovation and use of evolving technology and AI tools
