About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead system design and development efforts across new programs
- Perform design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems
- Provide expert judgment and analysis for technical products and systems
- Resolve complex technical issues and conduct advanced research
- Defend work and design approaches using Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product and procedure quality
- Plan and accomplish goals using applicable experience and judgment
- Establish planning and reflection cadences across multiple project teams
- Guide flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables
- Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices
- Write documentation and deliverables for government contract requirements
- Simulate end-user operations and execute test procedures
- Support generation of testable requirements and design test bed architecture
- Write detailed test cases and articulate results in a software development lifecycle management tool
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an Engineering-related field
- Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
- Understanding of full product life cycle, including system design, development, integration, testing, delivery, support, and retirement
- 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
- Experience with simulation tools and techniques for system design, analysis, and validation
