About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs CT scan examinations appropriate to the patient's age in inpatient and/or outpatient settings
- Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records
- Completes records, paperwork, and billings promptly
- Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams
- Completes exams, performs quality control on images, and sends exams to PACS for physician review
- Maintains orderly inventory and assists with purchasing needed supplies
- Performs job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling
- Performs CT exams using contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician
- Establishes IV access for contrast injection
- Travels between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support
- Complies with departmental policies, procedures, objectives, health and safety regulations, and quality improvement practices
- Attends required meetings, conferences, and seminars
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited radiological program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to collaborate with peers to produce optimum results
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families
- Ability to establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policy and procedures
- Ability to perform CT examinations using contrast media according to department policy and procedures
- Ability to travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled
- Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
