About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform CT scan examinations for patients of all ages in inpatient and/or outpatient settings
- Scan and produce computerized tomography examinations for physician interpretation and diagnosis
- Gather pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records
- Complete records, paperwork, and billings promptly
- Position and transfer patients appropriately
- Assist radiologists and physicians with diagnostic, interventional, and urgent examinations
- Complete exams, perform image quality control, and send exams to PACS for physician review
- Maintain orderly inventory and arrange purchase of needed supplies
- Assist with scheduling and other job-related duties and departments as needed
- Perform CT exams using contrast media under direction of a radiologist or emergency room physician
- Establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policy
- Comply with departmental policies, quality-improvement practices, health and safety regulations, and standards of respect
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited radiological program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to collaborate with peers to produce optimum results
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families
- Ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends, with shifts of 7a-3p, 3p-11p, or 11p-7a
- Ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and carrying up to more than 100 pounds
- Must maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
