About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform standard cleaning procedures throughout hospital areas and buildings
  • Clean patient rooms, surgery areas, units, nurseries, nursing stations, lounges, isolation areas, emergency room lavatories, bathrooms, stairways, offices, corridors, and apartments
  • Perform high dusting and spot cleaning of walls, windows, and doors
  • Disinfect horizontal surfaces, mop floors, vacuum carpets, empty trash, and clean and polish bathroom fixtures
  • Burnish floors and operate automatic floor machines
  • Perform checkout cleaning of discharged and transferred units, including making beds
  • Pick up and transport trash from utility rooms and collection points to the compactor pickup area
  • Move furniture and set up meeting rooms as necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to read, write and follow simple English instruction
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Preferred: 3–6 months experience as a houseworker
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted unless certification, licensure or registration is required
