About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in planning, organizing, delegating, and auditing HVAC equipment maintenance and repair
  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment
  • Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on hot water, heating, and chilled water air conditioning systems
  • Repair and install steam pipes, steam pressure regulators, and steam traps
  • Replace filters and clean air handling and exhaust systems
  • Maintain chiller and absorption units, cooling towers, and pneumatic control systems
  • Assist in cleaning and preparing boilers for inspection
  • Maintain control of thermostat adjustments throughout facilities
  • Inspect assigned areas and record findings on logs
  • Inspect machine rooms to ensure equipment is operating properly
  • Record work in the computer maintenance work log and complete work slips
  • Maintain and order assigned supplies
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and machine rooms
  • Care for and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Adhere to safety standards, procedures, and regulations
  • Respond to and assess calls and emergencies as required or directed
  • Assume on-call responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the stated requirements
  • EPA CFC Recovery Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment as a condition of employment
  • One to three years of experience
  • Ability to repair and troubleshoot variable air volume terminal bases
  • Knowledge of pneumatic temperature controls
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to assume on-call responsibilities as assigned
