About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of the Nurse Director or designee
- Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care administered by staff
- Help patients move safely and efficiently through hospitalization
- Use the nursing process to assess and plan care
- Perform nursing tasks according to policy and procedure
- Respond effectively in urgent and emergent situations
- Delegate effectively and coordinate information exchange among staff, physicians, and administration
- Manage changing patient flow and unit acuity
- Document using the correct format and report significant patient information promptly
- Use communication techniques appropriate to patients' level of understanding

- Participate in a hospital council or committee
- Pursue new learning experiences, including clinical ladders
- Promote cooperation and understanding while serving as a teacher and role model
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation and training from an accredited school of nursing
- Current license by the Massachusetts B.O.R.N.
- American Heart Association or equivalent B.L.S. certification for health care provider required upon hire or during orientation
- A minimum of one year of general medical-surgical experience is preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted unless certification, licensure, or registration is required
- Ability to perform the listed physical activities, lifting/force exertion, and work in the stated environmental conditions
