About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle incoming phone calls from patients, families, and referring providers to schedule appointments across multiple providers, clinics, departments, practices, and campuses
- Make outbound phone calls to patients to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists
- Collect and update patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor details
- Collect patient liabilities before or on the date of service, as appropriate
- Secure outside medical records based on appointment visit type
- Schedule in-office procedures and procedure rooms
- Provide exceptional patient service to facilitate access to appropriate care
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma
- English speaking, reading and writing skills
- Strong intrapersonal and communication skills
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted unless certification, licensure, or registration is required
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in business or healthcare-related field
- Preferred: Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience
- Preferred: Previous experience in a health care organization
- Preferred: Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills
