About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and nursing practice standards
- Use the Nursing Process to manage patient care from admission to discharge
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans, including discharge planning
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting
- Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care and patient/family education plans
- Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers
- Administer medications; perform treatments and therapies; operate equipment; and assist physicians with treatments, procedures, and special tests
- Participate in Nursing Governance activities
- Support professional growth and assist with staff education and development
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and apply quality improvement in daily operations
- Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
- Respect diverse views and contribute to a professional, tolerant, civil, and accepting environment
- Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
- BLS required for every RN unless current ACLS certification is held, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or APLS (Advanced Pediatric Life Support) required
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification or required to obtain upon hire
- Minimum three years' experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
- Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of total working hours per year
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Ability to comply with departmental policies, procedures, health and safety regulations, and competencies
- Work is considered medium and requires working indoors in a patient care environment
