About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and nursing practice standards
  • Manage patient care from admission to discharge

  • Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
  • Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
  • Administer medications and perform treatments, therapies, equipment operation, physician assistance, procedures, and special tests
  • Participate in Nursing Governance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Support professional growth and staff education and development
  • Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Comply with departmental policies, procedures, health and safety requirements
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
  • Current BLS certification for every RN, unless current ACLS certification is held, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS or APLS certification
  • Must be eligible to obtain CEN upon hire; if not certified upon hire, must obtain within 12 months of hire or by 1/31/2029, whichever is earlier
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
  • Must provide traditional clinical emergency services at the Marlborough Campus full-service hospital emergency department for at least 25% of total working hours per year
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing
  • Ability to work indoors in a patient care environment with medium physical demands
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred
