About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and standards of nursing practice
- Manage patient care from admission to discharge according to developmental age
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care, including discharge planning
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care and patient/family education plans
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Administer medications; perform treatments and therapies; operate equipment; assist physicians with treatments, procedures, and special tests
- Participate in Nursing Governance and performance improvement initiatives
- Support professional growth and assist with staff education and development
- Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
- Maintain a professional, respectful, tolerant, civil, and accepting environment
- Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
- BLS certification required for every RN unless current ACLS certification is held, in addition to unit-specific certifications and competencies
- ACLS certification
- PALS or APLS certification
- Must be eligible to obtain CEN upon hire; if not certified upon hire, must obtain it within 12 months of hire or by 1/31/2029, whichever is earlier
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
- Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of total working hours per year
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Ability to work indoors in a patient care environment with medium physical demands
- Compliance with departmental policies, procedures, objectives, health and safety regulations, and attendance requirements
