About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and standards of nursing practice
- Manage patient care from admission to discharge
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care, including discharge planning
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Delegate tasks appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care and patient/family education plans
- Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with healthcare providers
- Administer medications; perform treatments and therapies; operate equipment; and assist physicians with treatments, procedures, and special tests
- Participate in Nursing Governance and performance improvement initiatives
- Support professional growth and assist with staff education and development
- Comply with departmental policies, meetings, health and safety requirements, and standards of respect
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and perform related duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
- Current BLS certification for every RN unless current ACLS certification is held, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or APLS (Advanced Pediatric Life Support)
- Must be eligible to obtain CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) upon hire; if not certified upon hire, must obtain within 12 months of hire or by 1/31/2029, whichever is earlier
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
- Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of total working hours per year
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Must maintain department-specific competencies
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Work indoors in a patient care environment
