About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and nursing practice standards
  • Manage patient care from admission through discharge
  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments
  • Develop and coordinate individualized care plans, including discharge planning
  • Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
  • Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and document patient and family education plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
  • Administer medications; perform treatments, therapies, and special tests; operate equipment
  • Assist physicians with treatments and procedures
  • Participate in Nursing Governance activities
  • Pursue professional growth and assist with staff education and development
  • Participate in performance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Comply with departmental policies, procedures, health and safety requirements
  • Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
  • Current BLS certification for every RN, unless current ACLS certification is held, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
  • Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS or APLS certification
  • CEN certification or required to obtain upon hire
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
  • Provide traditional clinical emergency services at the Marlborough Campus full-service hospital emergency department for at least 25% of total working hours per year
  • Ability to work indoors in a patient care environment
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
