About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, deliver, and manage direct patient care using the nursing process and nursing practice standards
- Manage patient care from admission through discharge
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans, including discharge planning
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
- Delegate tasks according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care and patient/family education plans
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Administer medications and perform treatments, therapies, equipment operation, physician-assisted procedures, and special tests
- Participate in Nursing Governance and performance improvement initiatives
- Support professional growth and staff education and development
- Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
- Maintain professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility, and acceptance toward employees, patients, and visitors
- Perform other related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts licensure and registration
- Completion of an accredited school of nursing program
- BLS certification, unless current ACLS certification is held, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- Ability to perform medium physical work indoors in a normal patient care environment
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Compliance with departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and health and safety regulations
