About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver and manage patient care from admission to discharge
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans, including discharge planning
- Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care in the assigned clinical setting
- Delegate appropriately according to job descriptions and competency levels
- Document patient care
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and document education plans for patients, families, and significant others
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care
- Administer medications and perform treatments, therapies, and special tests
- Operate equipment according to policy and procedure
- Assist physicians with treatments and procedures
- Participate in Nursing Governance activities
- Support professional growth and assist with staff education and development
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and apply quality improvement in daily operations
- Comply with departmental policies, procedures, objectives, health and safety regulations, and meeting requirements
- Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Perform other related duties as required or directed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration
- BLS certification required for every RN unless current ACLS certification satisfies the requirement, plus unit-specific certifications and competencies
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing
- ACLS required for the Nashoba Valley SEF
- PALS or APLS required
- CEN certification or required to obtain upon hire
- Minimum of three years' experience working in a full-service hospital emergency department
- Provide traditional clinical emergency services at a full-service hospital emergency department (Marlborough Campus) for at least 25% of total working hours per year
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred
- Work indoors in a patient care environment and perform medium physical work
