About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create and update provider templates for assigned areas using Guidelines for Template Standardization
  • Monitor master and daily schedule change requests
  • Work with Providers, Clinic/Practice Managers, Supervisors and/or Secretaries, and Schedulers to identify efficient appointment scheduling processes
  • Incorporate scheduling options into provider schedule definitions
  • Assist with training Template Builders to ensure consistency and adherence to approved scheduling standards
  • Develop and modify scheduling templates to optimize provider time in clinics
  • Improve patient access, provider book rates, and provider productivity
  • Provide oversight of master schedule templates for new and existing providers
  • Manage new appointment type requests and visit type load balancing
  • Collaborate with Ambulatory Operations to review and recommend master template enhancements
  • Ensure change requests follow process guidelines, including worklist assignment of bumped patients
  • Maintain detailed change-request documentation in ServiceNow
  • Communicate change-request status through ServiceNow with Providers, Senior Directors, Clinic/Practice Managers, Group Administrators, Supervisors and/or Secretaries, and Schedulers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of scheduling experience
  • Minimum 1 year of master template experience, preferably in a health care environment
  • Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems for patient registration and scheduling
  • Knowledge of business office procedures
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Experience leading change, customer advocacy, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills regarding data collection, compilation, and trend identification
  • Bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted where applicable
