About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform ultrasound scans to produce images assisting physicians in diagnosing injury and/or disease for patients of all ages
  • Obtain and record patient clinical information and history and verify physician assessment using Universal Protocol
  • Adjust imaging procedures and techniques for patient size, age, or condition
  • Assist, transfer, and position patients while ensuring modesty and physical safety
  • Select scan parameters appropriate to the examination and patient condition
  • Process and record scanned images according to Radiologist protocol
  • Review scans with Radiologists as requested
  • Document work accurately in HIS/RIS/PACS systems
  • Check equipment operation and ensure quality assurance and maintenance schedules are followed
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables and equipment and stock rooms with linen and supplies
  • Assist in other areas/modalities as needed
  • Attend required meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in medical imaging and/or a health-related field, or equivalent knowledge
  • Registration or registry eligibility by the ARDMS
  • No restrictions prohibiting work as an ultrasonographer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Additional registration in Vascular, Breast, GYN, and Abdominal
  • BLS healthcare provider certification required before completion of the 90-day probationary period
  • Experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to maintain yearly competency in Trophon disinfection processes
  • Ability to comply with departmental policies, health and safety regulations, and quality improvement practices
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
