About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, identify, and manage credit risk for an assigned commercial real estate loan portfolio generally consisting of relationships greater than $5,000,000
- Partner with Relationship Managers to oversee and manage assigned CRE loans and relationships
- Perform credit underwriting for existing client relationships, including annual reviews and modifications/extensions
- Analyze borrower and guarantor repayment capacity
- Recommend loan structures and perform collateral analysis across multiple asset classes
- Prepare pricing models for credit requests
- Prepare and present credit packages to credit and loan committees
- Monitor and document covenant compliance according to loan documents and bank policy
- Monitor and cure documentation exceptions, overdue financial reporting, and performance covenant issues
- Identify and manage early warning signs through recurring analysis of borrower, guarantor, and property financial performance
- Analyze financial covenant compliance and payment performance benchmarks
- Provide recurring customer service through joint sales calls and direct client correspondence
- Perform other projects and tasks as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or related fields
- 3+ years commercial real estate experience including credit analysis/underwriting
- Current valid driver’s license
- Preferred: 5+ years commercial real estate experience including credit analysis/underwriting
- Preferred: 2+ years of commercial banking experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of credit underwriting for major investment CRE property types
- Ability to interpret policies/procedures, contracts, loan documents, credit reports, financial statements, and property reports
- Excellent analytical skills, including CRE property and market underwriting and guarantor financial statement analysis
- Expert knowledge of processing, structuring, and renewing/extending maturing loans
- Strong knowledge of bank products, services, and operations
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of commercial lending software
- Ability to conduct global cash flow analysis using tax returns, credit reports, and personal financial statements
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and simple macros
- Familiarity with FIS Loan Accounting System
- Ability to prospect and network at various company and industry levels
