About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the point of contact for potential IT demands and projects from Korea sites
- Advise users on requirements and request submission through proper IT channels
- Capture demands and feed them into the global demand management process
- Track ongoing demands and inform business contacts of progress
- Liaise with IS APM and functional teams to ensure proposed solutions are approved and meet corporate standards
- Execute tasks for complex IT demands or projects exceeding €300K budget and/or 100 man-days
- Deliver onsite technical support for complex digital workplace issues at Korean sites
- Implement standardized hardware lifecycle management at support sites
- Manage IS licenses and assets with local BIT/key users
- Own and manage the IT device refresh cycle in production and laboratory environments
- Build, maintain, and lead a virtual regional SME team
- Maintain regional subject-matter expertise and documentation for laboratory and production IT infrastructure
- Ensure laboratory and production IT infrastructure meets agreed standards
- Support non-standard, site-specific IT solutions
- Build effective relationships with business contacts and advise local business units on IT topics
- Coordinate maintenance of local IT infrastructure in line with corporate guidelines
- Manage the local server room for operational continuity, internal controls, and audit compliance
- Lead regional execution of the IT roadmap
- Oversee regional IT demands and projects and report status to global IS management
- Identify end-user IT knowledge gaps and deliver training and orientation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s in computer science/information systems or above
- 4 years management experience in an IT management position
- Knowledge of IT service structure and technical architecture
- Broad technical knowledge and experience with IT systems and technologies, including Microsoft products
- Broad technical knowledge and experience with IT hardware and technologies, including HP, Cisco, and Ricoh products
- Broad technical knowledge and experience with key elements of IT infrastructure, including servers and networks
- Knowledge of IT security concepts
- Ability to report on operations performance and formulate improvement proposals
- Ability to plan and deliver to objectives
- Ability to prioritize and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to deal with escalations and work under pressure
- Ability to present technical matters to a non-technical audience
- Fluent communication with users at all levels in English and Korean
