About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor production to achieve the required quality and target quantities of manufactured products
- Load prepared charges into furnaces and reactors
- Produce cobalt chloride and supply chloride requirements for the Next workshop
- Operate manufacturing processes across five reduction furnaces
- Autonomously operate equipment within the parameters of the manufacturing order
- Ensure material supply and product quality through in-process checks
- Monitor self-regulating hydrometallurgical parameters and interpret process curves and supervisory system information
- Diagnose equipment failures and process issues
- Report any issues encountered to the Shift Supervisor
- Identify quality-control deviations and rectify them where possible
- Initiate maintenance actions and perform first-level maintenance
- Apply 5S methodology
- Ensure continuity of information during shift handovers
- Perform hazardous-gas purging (H₂, N₂) and chemical purging (HCl, caustic soda, chloride)
- Ensure the tungsten and cobalt production lines are placed in a safe state
- Implement lockout/tagout procedures for maintenance work
- Follow safety instructions and participate in the Internal Emergency Plan (POI)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Vocational baccalaureate or two years of post-secondary technical education, along with experience operating industrial processes
- Forklift certification is preferred
- Knowledge of metallurgy and chemistry
- Proficiency in reading manufacturing orders
- Proficiency in entering production data into SAP
- Strong awareness of the safety requirements and chemical risks associated with a high-threshold Seveso-classified site
- Rigorous, well-organized, and autonomous, with a strong commitment to safety rules
- Team-oriented
- Initiative and proactive approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to work a 5x8 shift pattern: morning (4:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.), afternoon (12:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.), night (8:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m.), and days off
