About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set up, operate, monitor, measure, and troubleshoot manufacturing machines producing infrared optical lenses and/or components
  • Measure key dimensions using varying measurement instruments to ensure parts are in specification
  • Oper machines including Single Point Diamond Turning CNC, Lens Molding, Slicing, and Disc Polisher
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal operating parameters
  • Inspect final products against customer specifications
  • Enter product-related information into computer software systems
  • Execute assigned General Production tasks according to standard operating procedures and safety/quality requirements
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, documentation, and transactions
  • Recognize issues or inconsistencies and support continuous improvement of work procedures
  • Support colleagues and respond to stakeholder requests
  • Escalate issues, risks, and deviations to the supervisor and follow corrective actions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CNC experience is a plus
  • Experience using and calibrating measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Finger/hand dexterity to handle small fragile parts
