About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up, operate, monitor, measure, and troubleshoot manufacturing machines producing infrared optical lenses and/or components
- Measure key dimensions using various measurement instruments to ensure parts are within specification
- Operate machines including Single Point Diamond Turning CNC, Lens Molding, Slicing, and Disc Polisher
- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal operating parameters
- Inspect final products to ensure quality meets customer specifications
- Enter product-related information into computer software systems
- Execute assigned General Production tasks following standard operating procedures and safety/quality requirements
- Maintain accurate and complete records, documentation, and transactions
- Recognize issues or inconsistencies and support continuous improvement of work procedures and instructions
- Support colleagues and respond to stakeholder requests in a timely, professional manner
- Escalate issues, risks, and deviations to the supervisor and follow through on corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CNC experience is a plus
- Experience using and calibrating measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Finger/hand dexterity to handle small fragile parts
