About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive AI adoption and business transformation across Umicore by identifying, prioritizing and implementing high-value AI initiatives aligned with business objectives and the CORE strategy
  • Partner with business leaders and functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve operational efficiency, generate business value and support strategic growth
  • Own and deliver assigned AI projects, use cases and roadmaps within selected EF Enterprise Functions, ensuring measurable business outcomes and value realization
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional AI initiatives from concept through deployment, bridging business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Support AI solution design, development and implementation, including data preparation, model evaluation, deployment planning and continuous improvement
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, compliant with governance requirements and aligned with responsible and ethical AI practices
  • Promote AI literacy through training, workshops, stakeholder engagement and change management activities
  • Contribute to the IgnAIte AI Watchtower by monitoring AI market trends, emerging technologies and industry developments
  • Contribute to the AI Radar by tracking AI deployments, use cases and innovation opportunities across Umicore
  • Collaborate with business leaders, Digitalization, IS, BIT, CRD, Legal, Communications teams, vendors and external AI partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
  • Proven track record of delivering business value through AI, automation, analytics or digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify, quantify and communicate the impact of AI on business outcomes
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional projects and engaging senior stakeholders in a global organization
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
  • Knowledge of Generative AI, predictive analytics, automation technologies and commercial AI platforms
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, AI readiness and responsible AI principles
  • Experience in change management, user adoption and organizational transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, risk management and ethical AI deployment
  • Self-driven, collaborative and results-oriented professional with a passion for innovation and practical AI adoption
  • Be able to work 3 days from Hobboken office, 2 days remote
