About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3–5 years of experience in a professional setting, such as advising, counseling, admissions, tutoring, education, or customer service
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and motivate students
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to interpret and explain academic policies and degree requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and communication technologies such as Zoom
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and FERPA compliance
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, student-centered environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing student needs
  • For remote/hybrid work: reliable high-speed internet of at least 25 Mbps and a dedicated, private workspace meeting confidentiality requirements
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in higher education or student success roles preferred
  • Experience with adult learners or competency-based education models preferred
  • Familiarity with University of Maine System technologies, including MaineStreet and BrightSpace preferred
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, with some nights and weekends
  • Must not require visa sponsorship
