About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership to the development team, ensuring adherence to software engineering best practices and sound architecture
Design and implement scalable, resilient, and robust solutions for the Pix system
Serve as a technical reference, promoting mentoring, pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to align business needs with technical solutions
Ensure code quality and the adoption of automated testing
Ensure application observability, monitoring, and performance
Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks, proposing continuous improvements
Define and ensure adherence to architectural, security, and software governance standards
Investigate, prioritize, and resolve complex production issues
Support technical decision-making and promote engineering autonomy and maturity
Anticipate technical impacts and dependencies, reducing product risks
Work with Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and other stakeholders to evolve the Pix ecosystem
Ensure solutions are aligned with regulatory requirements and legal demands related to the Pix product

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience with Java development (version 8 or later)
In-depth knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and JPA/Hibernate
Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
Experience with messaging and event-driven architecture using Kafka and RabbitMQ
Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices
Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially Kanban, and DevOps practices
Knowledge of application security practices in financial services
Experience investigating and resolving issues in production environments
Knowledge of software architecture, observability, monitoring, and performance
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different audiences and departments
Technical leadership and influencing skills, even without formal authority
Collaborative mindset and the ability to develop people
Autonomy and a strong sense of ownership
Ability to make decisions under pressure and with incomplete information
Systems thinking and the ability to anticipate risks and impacts
Ability to connect technical decisions to business needs
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Preferred: experience with the Pix product and/or payment systems
Preferred: experience handling regulatory and legal requirements in financial institutions
Preferred: knowledge of Central Bank of Brazil regulations and specifications related to Pix
Preferred: experience in high-criticality, high-availability environments
Preferred: previous experience as a Tech Lead or in technical leadership roles
