About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and oversee establishment and maintenance of project master data in the ERP grants management module
Manage released and unreleased project budgets
Oversee budget compliance controls and budget revisions
Develop and implement financial monitoring and control mechanisms to identify, assess and mitigate financial and compliance risks
Direct and oversee donor financial reporting
Advise on grants management and use of funds within approved implementation budgets
Support Treasury in managing the Japan contribution under the UNIDO Investment Policy
Provide direct support to the Treasurer, including deposit-limit analysis and research on new partner institutions
Provide secretariat support for Investment Committee meetings
Coordinate expedited solutions for IT-related items
Oversee payment controls and vendor master-data verification
Monitor project financial reporting and identify risks or irregularities
Lead review of exceptional and high-risk payment and travel requests
Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to the Director, Financial Services for Procurement Committee meetings
Perform other project-related assignments as instructed

Requirements

What you’ll need

First-level university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in economics, finance, accounting, business administration or another related field is required
Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) or Doctorate in the same fields accepted with reduced experience requirements
Bachelor’s degree: at least 10 years of relevant professional experience
Master’s degree: at least 7 years of relevant professional experience
Doctorate: at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
Progressively responsible relevant professional experience in financial management
Proven team leading experience at the international level
Experience in grants and budget management, donor financial reporting, treasury operations, financial compliance and internal controls
Experience managing extra-budgetary funds and technical co-operation
Experience applying financial regulations, rules, policies and procedures in an international organization or comparable public-sector environment
Fluency in written and spoken English
