About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
  • Serve as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated
  • Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management
  • Safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy
  • Support productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
  • Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies
  • Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review
  • Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and mandatory education
  • Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
  • Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students
  • Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing
  • Preferred: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
  • Preferred: CCRN
  • Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned
