About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate mental health care services for American Indian/Alaska Native clients in Los Angeles County
  • Conduct program intakes and psychosocial assessments
  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy using evidence-based interventions
  • Provide psychoeducational group sessions such as parenting classes and support groups
  • Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed/required
  • Conduct in-home visits on occasion and as needed
  • Partner with Case Coordinator to obtain resources and referrals for clients
  • Maintain aftercare follow-up and support for clients completing center programs/treatment
  • Participate in Outpatient Staff meetings, Clinical Case Conferences, and other assigned meetings
  • Maintain 70% billable productivity; for a 40-hour workweek, 28 hours must be billable
  • Submit completed paperwork to supervisor within 24 hours of seeing clients
  • Maintain client charts and meet DMH and agency paperwork deadlines
  • Comply with agency guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Keep Program Manager/Director informed regarding activities, pending issues, and potential problems
  • Work evenings and/or weekends as needed for company events
  • Maintain valid licensure and complete continuing education units for license renewal
  • Perform other duties as assigned for organizational efficiency and effective client service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or related behavioral health field, or Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology from an accredited graduate program
  • Current State Licensure in California to practice independently; LCSW, LMFT
  • Minimum one-year clinical experience working with multiple-problem families
  • Minimum one-year clinical experience with children and families
  • Prior experience working with LA County Department of Mental Health, as an outpatient and/or contracted provider
  • Computer skills, including use of databases and electronic health records
  • Maintain strict confidentiality adhering to HIPAA, professional codes of conduct, State of CA regulations, Privacy Act, and UAII policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed modalities to provide culturally relevant care to American Indian/Alaska Native and Indigenous communities
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to work with culturally diverse populations, including youth, adolescents, adults and elders
  • Knowledge of and/or sensitivity to the needs of the American Indian community/culture
  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training sessions relevant to the position
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Successful completion of background checks
  • Fingerprint clearance and post-offer drug test
  • Proof of hepatitis B vaccination and TB screening
