About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Project Manager in overseeing project delivery
- Manage and support scope, schedule, cost, risk, resourcing, and project design interfaces
- Provide clarity and assurance to stakeholders
- Oversee project progress across design and construction phases
- Align delivery with UI Power T&D and client goals
- Review and plan project details
- Design activities using existing solutions
- Maintain relationships with teams and stakeholders
- Negotiate changes with sponsors and customers
- Report progress regularly
- Manage external suppliers when applicable
- Solve project problems
- Conduct kick-off meetings and attend client meetings
- Draft project documents
- Prepare organisation charts and support resourcing and workforce planning and development
- Chair meetings and distribute minutes
- Track progress and quality
- Monitor plans, hours, budgets, and spending
- Communicate project information to teams and customers
- Review contractor quotes
- Keep stakeholders informed and flag issues early
- Lead a small project team
- Adhere to organisational procedures and safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Suitably educated in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent qualifications/equivalent demonstrable experience
- Experience developing and delivering multi-million-pound projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Experience handling T&D project design and budgets
- Proven project delivery skills
- Experience in data analysis, stakeholder management, cost estimation, project planning, and project management reporting
- Proven persuasion, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and initiative
- Problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of business awareness, project success and benefits management, contract models, project initiation and quality assurance, legal and ethical requirements, document control, KPI setting, operational handover, design safety standards, and progress tracking
- Experience with NGED, SSEN, NGET, or similar transmission and distribution network operators advantageous
