About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research and coordinate outreach events
- Act as liaison between United Way of Rhode Island and the community
- Develop relationships with individuals and community partners
- Plan, promote, and deliver outreach services through fairs, monthly schedule events, enrollment events, rallies, parades, and presentations
- Provide one-on-one community resource navigation and direct services as needed
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of United Way programs and Rhode Island social service and healthcare programs
- Assist with SNAP applications and recertifications and provide factual information
- Maintain a supportive, safe, and comfortable environment within the outreach RV
- Coordinate, collect, and provide detailed statistical information on outreach activities to the supervisor
- Collaborate with team members and external partners to maximize impact
- Drive and assist with maintenance and operation of the 29-foot outreach RV
- Complete JEDI growth planning, self-assessment, training, learning opportunities, and teach-backs
- Implement 70/20/10 activities in the annual Goal & Growth plan
- Use Microsoft 365, Asana, and CRM platforms for scheduling, documentation, and data tracking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in one-on-one counseling or short-term case management
- Experience in social services and/or community outreach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, thought-partner, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Asana, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms
- Bachelor's degree or similar training in social work, human services, or a related field is a plus
- Commitment to United Way of Rhode Island's mission and values
- Clean driving record and willingness to drive the outreach RV
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
- Inform USA Certification; Inform USA Recertification every two years; CAC Certification (training provided if not already held)
- Ability to travel regularly to community locations across Rhode Island
- Physical, cognitive, and scheduling flexibility for community-based outreach
